About Me
*Hey there! My name's Debbie Pierre; I'm a poet, writer and aspiring Creative Writing Teacher/Professor and editor.

*I have 3 cultural identities: Haitian-American, Floridian and Jersey-raised.

*Writing poetry and guiding future poets are my two main goals in life.

*I write poetry to not only record the present but to reconnect with my past — a Haitian-American woman navigating her childhood and adolescence but with a mature perspective.

*I also love reading someone else’s work-in-progress and learning new ways to describe living. I want to prove that everyone has a hidden poetic side. Some people just need the right guidance — I will be that to someone.

*As of now, most of my works have been published in Bloomfield College's Literary Magazine aka BC Underground.

*When I'm not building new metaphors and similes, you can find me binge-watching horror movies or animated shows.
